Across from Crowley's you'll see two churches - the Holy Cross Church (built for Irish immigrants) and the Church of the Immaculata (built for German immigrants) - along a tiny alley, recently renamed David Crowley Place in honor of the former Cincinnati vice mayor who recently passed away. Take David Crowley Place until it ends (about ten feet) at the Mount Adams Steps
The steps offer a breathtaking view of the Ohio River, Northern Kentucky, and Cincinnati. Since 1860, the 85 steps have been ascended on Good Friday by Cincinnatians praying the Rosary. Originally made of wood, the city helped the church build concrete steps in 1911.
